Editor's Comment: Give new meningitis vaccine to kids now

IF David Cameron and his government do nothing else today they need to pay attention to the Beat It Now campaign launched by Bristol-based Meningitis UK. And they need to act upon it.

For with the stroke of his prime-ministerial pen Mr Cameron could give the go ahead for every child in the country to receive this new vaccination and protect them against meningitis B.

Never in their political careers will Mr Cameron and his colleagues have the chance to save so many lives and prevent so much suffering and win universal acclaim, so easily.

They need only to listen to the words of the founder of Meningitis UK Steve Dayman to appreciate the significance of this new drug.
