Bristol will have a touch of Albert Square this winter when stars from hit soap EastEnders perform at the Hippodrome.

Kara Tointon and Joe Swash, who made their names in the BBC programme, will be taking the lead in pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

Kara, who is currently on our screens appearing as Dawn Swann, will be reunited with Joe, who played the part of Mickey Miller, her on-screen brother.

Joe was also crowned King of the Jungle last December after winning I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!

Theatre general manager Gary Roden said: "This is great news and we are all extremely happy to hear that Kara and Joe will be starring in Snow White here this Christmas.

"Pantomime is a key date in our diary and is massively popular in the region. Bristolians know that when they come to see a pantomime here at our theatre that it will be one with spectacular staging, lighting and costumes. The casting, of course, is the icing on the 'Christmas' cake."

Joining Kara and Joe is Andy Ford, who will play Muddles and who now has a reputation as one of the best panto lead comics in Britain.

The show's producers, who also brought smash-hit Cinderella to the Bristol stage, said Snow White had a hilarious script, sparkling sets, lavish costumes, romance, comedy and bags of audience participation.

Big song and dance numbers set to feature in the show include the Disney classics Whistle While You Work and Heigh-ho and there is also a magic mirror full of surprises.

This year, the production will have Robinsons as a sponsor for the first time.

Snow White will run at the Bristol Hippodrome twice daily from December 11 until to January 10 2010, with some exceptions.

Tickets cost between £16 and £26.50 and are available from Ticketmaster on 0844 847 2325.
