Many thanks to the Post for highlighting the delays being experienced by dystonia sufferers at the Frenchay Hospital Botox Clinic. There is no cure for dystonia, but botulinum toxin injection into the affected muscles at regular 10-12-week intervals afford some relief from the distressing affects of this illness.

The consultation and injection process takes less than 30 minutes. So what is the problem at Frenchay?

We have had to use these facilities, unfortunately, for four years and the service is getting worse.

It is good to hear from Dr Chris Burton that "there has not been a reduction in clinics for dystonia patients".

I should hope not!!

Perhaps Dr Burton should look again at the performance at the botox clinic and consider patients' medical needs and nothing else.

We look forward to the improvements promised (many times) with interest.

Name and address supplied.
