Duo power Frenchay to victory over Nailsea

Frenchay have climbed to third in Bristol & North Somerset after openers Mike Donaldson and Wayne Kylander helped them claim a 10-wicket win against Nailsea.

Somerset side Nailsea made 220-5 thanks to Russell Baker (36), James Tucker (64) and Matt Bryant (62). Kylander took 2-49.

But Donaldson took centre stage, smacking 136 off 77 balls, including 19 fours and 6 sixes.

He was well supported by No 2 batsman Kylander (81 from 72 balls, including 12 fours and 3 sixes).

In the only other match to survive the weather in the division, Chipping Sodbury (156-9) beat bottom side Timsbury (150) by six runs.

Claverham and Old Bristolians Westbury have both yet to lose a match this summer, after their top-of-the-table clash was abandoned.

Claverham made 202 with Ryan Thorpe top scoring on 86, while Bristolians were 36-3 after 18.3 overs when rain stopped play.

Gary Booth and Mark Coombes made 51 and 47 respectively for Bishopston in their match against Congresbury, which was also abandoned.

Bish finished on 226-8, Stephen Baker (3-69) and Justin Andrews (3-49) the leading bowlers.

But the match was called off when Congresbury were 122-1, with opener Buddhader Mangaldas hitting 85 not out from 68 balls, including 10 fours and 2 sixes. Hambrook against Shirehampton was cancelled.

In Bristol & Somerset, Winterbourne are being left adrift at the bottom of the table after losing for the fifth time this summer.

Fellow strugglers North Perrott won by 30 runs against the South Gloucestershire outfit.

Winterbourne did well to restrict Perrott to 183, with Adam Moore taking 5-42.

Dave John (49) and Dean Van Blerk (74 off 99 balls, including 11 fours) were the leading batsmen.

But after opener Steve Paul made 52, Winterbourne struggled to 158. Rich Foot (23) was the next best batter. John took 3-19.

Bedminster lost by five wickets after suffering a batting collapse against Ashcott & Shapwick.

Garreth Elphick (59) and former Gloucestershire batsman Rob Cunliffe (67) put on 148 for the second wicket after opener Qamar Waraich was out for a duck.

But once Elphick and Cunliffe were back in the pavilion, Bedminster struggled to 210-8. Dan Rudge and Kevin Skinner took 3-63 and 3-36 respectively.

Ashcott knocked off the winning runs with six balls to spare, with Ben Rudge hitting an unbeaten 74, including 9 fours.

Dave Reid made 44, while James Carter took 3-67.

In the Gloucestershire/Wiltshire division, James Mitchell (128) and Dwaine Perry (116) both hit hundreds as Marshfield were thrashed by 215 runs by Biddestone.

Will Johnson top scored with 35 as Marshfield made 90 in reply to Biddestone's 305-5. Mark Unwin (4-21) and Naeem Khan (3-27) did the damage for Biddestone.

Rockhampton's match with Wootton Bassett was cancelled.
