Duo fight it out for honours at North Somerset club's Trial
Six marks separated Keynsham's Matt Ridgeway and Paul Baber in the Enduro Class at the North Somerset club's two-hour Timed and Observation Trial at Compton Dando.
Ridgeway was first to complete the 16-lap marathon at Fairy Hill, but Baber was best on observation.
Paul Manning and Peter King lost the same number of marks, but Manning was fastest by 12 seconds. Stuart Keedwell was best on observation in the trials class with a loss of nine marks, but he had to settle for third place after finishing a lap down on Martin Lawford and Stuart Bowden.
Unit Construction and Twin Shock class winners Steven Hand and Tim Wheeler finished with clean sheets in the Bath Classic club's British and Non Modern Bike Trial at Easterton Sands.
Bristol's John May is still top of the points chart in the Expert Open Class in the Remedies Bar Championship despite failing to finish because of a puncture in the first fifth-round race at Whiteway Barton, staged by the West of England club.
The race was stopped after seven laps when Welshman Daryl Owen was taken to hospital with suspected head and neck injuries after falling on a steep climb.The race was won by reigning title holder Andrew Gillett.
