Druid's rituals are captured on film
The mysterious energies of Glastonbury Tor attracted a team of young film- makers from Bourne- mouth University for a video project being carried out as part of their coursework.
The group contacted Trevor Jones, proprietor of Glastonbury's Witchcraft Shop, for advice, and he suggested they link up with Druid and Reiki master Matthew Holbrook, of Timsbury, near Bath. Matthew was then filmed performing a poem about the Glastonbury spring waters, dowsing, using his sound-healing tools and crystal skull, and giving a Reiki treatment. He also talked about his life as a healer, Druid and bard.
"I was happy when people helped me with my college assignments, so it was great to be able to use my knowledge to help these students," Matthew told me. "I'm looking forward to seeing the video and already looking back at the photos of the filming with much fondness."
The film – by Katie Costain, director, Megan Coker, assistant director, Rob Price, sound, and Louis Blair, camera – is expected to go online before the end of the year.
I happen to know that the Witchcraft Shop has long been a prime contact point for international media and educational groups and individuals, facilitating various esoterically oriented projects. Trevor said: "I feel this is a fine example of Glastonbury being able to serve the needs of a wider community from the exceptional talent within.
"My personal thanks to Matthew for helping these young people in their education, and for enhancing the good name of this tiny town."
Photographs from the filming are included in Matthew's West Country Samhain report, which can be found at www.handswith energy.co.uk/events
