Drug grower's plan springs a leak

POLICE called out to a flat in Yate to investigate a water leak discovered a cannabis farm.

A concerned resident reported the water leak at a property in Home Orchard at 7pm on Wednesday.

They broke in to the home and discovered 36 cannabis plants growing inside. The drugs and cannabis-growing equipment found at the property were cleared out as part of Operation Viscount.

Paul Bunt, force drugs strategy manager, said: "Operation Viscount should send out a clear message that illegal drugs of any kind will not be tolerated and we will continue to bring offenders to justice. We actively seek to place those responsible for their cultivation before the courts."
