Drivers struggling with icy roads

Icy conditions in and around Bristol is still causing problems on the roads.

A flight to Bristol International Airport from Paris has been cancelled due to snow.

The plane was due to land at 10.20am.

Departures have also been delayed while slush is cleared from runways.

Icy roads have been causing problems in some parts of the Bristol including Whitchurch and the A367 dual carriageway at Peasedown St John was partially closed early this morning after an accident. It was due to re-open at 9am.

There have been no reported closures of Bristol schools this morning but Broadway Infants School in Yate is closed because of ice.

In North Somerset school transport has been cancelled because of the road conditions.

Worle Community School, Weston-super-Mare has staggered opening times. Year 9 should come in at 10am, the rest of the school at 11am.

Wellsway School in Keynsham is also opening later at 10.45am.

Shoscombe Primary School, near Bath is closed and South Down Junior, Bath is closed to year six and year four pupils because their teachers can't get to work.

There have been no reported problems on trains from Bristol to London but some services on branch lines near the capital have been affected.
