A motorist was arrested for driving dangerously after he failed to stop when police attempted to pull him over in Lawrence Weston.

The 54-year-old was driving a Vauxhall Corsa in Kingsweston Road on Tuesday at about 4pm, when officers saw him. He eventually stopped in Chapel Lane following a short police chase.

The man, whom police have not named, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and dangerous driving. He was later released on police bail pending further inquiries.

He was also cautioned for being in possession of a small amount of cannabis.
