Drew inspires Fry Club fund-raising
Somerset County League side Fry Club have raised £215 for the oncology ward at the Bristol Children's Hospital.
The collection was to support five-year-old Drew Thomas, whose dad Spencer manages Fry Club's neighbours Oldland Abbotonians in the Toolstation League.
Drew is winning the fight against non-Hodgkin lymphoma and is awaiting a bone marrow operation.
Fry manager Malcolm Beck said: "We heard about Drew's situation and everyone at the club wanted to help the family at this difficult time."
Spencer Thomas, who has helped raise more than £10,000 for the ward through a golf day, sporting auction and other fund-raising activities, said: "We appreciate every bit of support we're getting from clubs like Fry's and individuals."
