Dream come true for aspiring Bristol DJ
Fourteen-year-old Oliver Owens has landed his dream part-time job as a DJ.
Oliver, of Footshill Gardens, Hanham, has been chosen to present a fortnightly programme for under 18s on Bristol Community FM.
He said: "I want to be a radio DJ and a couple of months ago I began emailing radio stations to try to get some experience.
"Bristol Community FM was running something called Kids on Air – it was really good timing.
"They took on some young people, including me, and we got to do lots of different things. Afterwards they said they really liked me and wanted to keep me on to present a show for under 18s which goes out every other Wednesday from 4pm to 5pm."
Oliver, who goes to Hanham High School, broadcasts his show from a studio at the Beacon Centre in Russell Town Avenue.
His ambition is to have his own show on a national radio station.

“Being a radio DJ is easy. I could do it with my eyes closed. The few times I have been on GWR etc I was amazing.”
