Downpours put spoke in events this weekend
THIS week's heavy rain has wrecked the weekend programme.
The opening round of the Red Bull Pro-National and Elite Cup Motocross at the Landrake Park circuit near Plymouth tomorrow and Sunday has been postponed until May 11 or 12. And the South West Premier Series round at the Tiverton Park circuit at Halberton has been re-scheduled for June 3.
The Pendennis club's trial at Trenoweth Woods, Grampound in Cornwall has had to be switched to Penventon Quarry, at Lanner, near Redruth, owing to flooding at the original venue.
The Bath Classic MCC motocross event at Church Farm, Yatton Keynell in Wiltshire has been cancelled, but the British Sporting Sidecar Association's two-hour timed and observation trial, at Beaconsfield Farm, West Harptree, on Sunday will go ahead.

An impressive line-up is headed by Paul Manning, the winner of last weekend's North Somerset event at Chelwood. He should be challenged by Jason and Mark Hamblin, Jeremy Cross, Peter King, Tom Smith, Harvey Dark and Simon Prideaux and other regular award winners.
Another event taking place is the Mendip Vale club's observation-only trial at Washingpool, at East Horrington, near Wells, which will be signposted from the Slab House Inn. Entries will be accepted up to 30 minutes before the 10.30am start.
Most clubs in the South West Centre have entered at least one team in the annual inter-club team event at Lower Wembsworthy Farm, Hartland in North Devon on Sunday.
National star Ricky Wiggins will be in the Yeo Vale club's squad, along with his father Lee and Nick Gundry, while centre champion Joe Baker will lead the Lyn club's challenge.
