DOWNEND Wanderers kicked off 2012 with a convincing 6-2 Bristol Under-18 Combination win against Bradley Stoke.

Goals from Ross Pidgeon (2), Joe Goss, Nathan Parker, Cameron Gardner and Jordan Leonard saw Wanderers maintain the pressure on Bristol Division leaders Highridge.

Strikes by Alex Turnball, Ben Cush and Liam Clayton saw Cribbs Friends to a slender 3-2 win over Roman Glass.

A powerful Matthew Lawes header put Warmley on the way to a 3-1 Bristol North success against Bristol Athletic. Jordan Smith and Jamie Rees were their other marksmen.

Two terrific goals, from Harry Chambers and Dom Richards, could not save Thornbury Town from a 3-2 home defeat by Hanham B. Left-back Ryan Clifford was Town's star man.

Luke Cox, Keiran Cooper, Tony Evans and Sean Heal (penalty) were on target as Henbury Colts overcame Rockleaze Rangers 4-2 in Bristol South. Bruno Dos Santos hit both goals for Rockleaze.

Kieran Williams fired four goals as Winterbourne moved into second place in the Gloucestershire County Youth League by thrashing Wotton 6-0. James Burton and Liam Robson were also on target.

Goals from Harry White and Sam Thomas gave Cadbury Heath a 2-0 win over Thornbury Town.

Ingleside and Golden Hill Sonics fought out an exciting 2-2 draw in the Under-13 Division of the Bristol Saturday Youth League.

Josh Parsons and Rob Grant were on target for Golden Hill, with Malique Christian and Reece Matthews replying for the hosts.

Ned O'Keeffe scored both goals for St Andrews in a 5-2 home defeat by Tytherington Rocks, while Bishopston A went top of the table for the first time this season after beating Thornbury 2-1.

Paul Truscelli and Gabe Kerfoot scored the goals after fine approach play by Tom Johnson and Oliver Williams.

Southmead beat Ichtus 6-3 in a top-of-the-table Division B clash thanks to Perran Blundell (2), Scott Ford (2), Blake Hoskins and Gudjon Thors. Andrew Peterson, Henry Clothier and Liam Pate hit back for Ichtus.

A superb hat-trick from Liam Griffiths saw Shirehampton Under-11s to a 3-1 win at Brislington, and Joey Tulloch-Martin did likewise for Westbury Park Foxes Whites, who won 6-2 at Rockleaze Rangers. Sophie McConnell, Alec Millward and Jacob Gibson were their other scorers, with Harry Watts and Dan Whiteman replying for Rockleaze.

Goals from Toby Wales (2), Jasper Eddison, Max Arrastia and Peter Berry saw Buccaneers Reds to a thrilling 5-4 away success over Westbury Park Foxes Greens, who responded through Omar Rauf (2), Danny Wistow and Jack Clarke.

Nicholas Wanderers Under-13s edged to a 4-3 victory over Avon Athletic in the third round of the GFA Cup thanks to goals from Callum Fudgell, Kwyn Gilbert (penalty), Soloman Smith and Tarayn Joseph's last-gasp winner. Sean Marvin, Jack Staples and Terry Wise were excellent at the back for Wanderers.
