DOWNEND Flyers A Under-12s recorded their first win of the season with a 5-0 victory over Longwell Green.

Lottie Clark's hat-trick set them on their way followed by singles from Holly Checketts and Jasmine Truman, while Robyn Kelley turned in an excellent midfield display for Downend.

Kirstyn Vines also produced a good performance for Flyers' B team but she was unable to prevent them falling 2-0 at home to Ashton Girls in a competitive match. Zoe Dodge put Ashton ahead midway through the first half and Georgia Evans pounced on a rebound off the post to make it 2-0 at half-time.

Bristol Ladies Union C Under-12s ground-out a 2-0 victory over league newcomers Highridge United. Union's strike pairing of Ella Bridgeman and Lucy Hodges probed early on and got the breakthrough on six minutes when Bridgeman slotted home her ninth goal of the season.

The welcome return from illness of Shontay White proved invaluable as she notched Union's second midway through the first period.

Bristol Ladies Union Under-12s A returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Weston St Johns. They started strongly but were unable to convert a perfectly-weighted cross by Ellie Reader early on.

The pace of Alice Green in the Union defence proved crucial in the second half as it was her team who finally broke the deadlock when midfielder Laura Sainsbury fired home ten minutes from time.

Union keeper Alice Bonham-Carter made a string of superb saves to preserve the narrow lead.

Portishead Juniors A Under-12s ran out emphatic 13-1 victors against a previously unbeaten Bristol Central side, who were hit with illness and injury.

An own goal from a throw set Portishead's wheels in motion, followed by a quickfire hat-trick from Annabelle Colston. Strike partner Taylor Gainey weighed in with another four goals while Erica Marshall and Maisie Kincaid, who had come straight from a gymnastics competition, added further goals.

Colston netted twice more to take her partnership with Gainey to the 50-goal mark in seven games but the loudest home cheer was reserved for captain and player-of-the-match Ellie Grey, who scored her first-ever goal with a long-range effort.

Cadie Dunn and goalkeeper Alice Pritchard gave an assured display but were unable to prevent Central from scoring a deserved goal.

Wotton Rovers Under-12s had to work hard to break down a stubborn Portishead B defence before moving up through the gears to complete a 5-0 win. Alice Baker scored twice to put the visitors 2-0 in the ascendancy before half-time.

Wotton were foiled by excellent goalkeeping from Lucy Rance after the break but their third goal came via a superb individual effort from Charlotte Walker, while Rosanna Blacker was quick to net the fourth.

Wotton boss Will Lucas said: "Credit to Portishead because they made us work extremely hard."

Ashleigh Rooke scored her first goal for the club as Keynsham Town Under-12s overcame a resilient Yate team 4-0. Six-girl Yate defended well but were undone by two-goal player-of-the-match Kelsie Gunstone and Charlieanne Alford.

Longwell Green Under-14s continued their unbeaten run with an emphatic 7-1 win over Westfield, who initially dominated before two quickfire goals from Kelly Preston and Caitlin Saunders put the hosts in charge.

Preston scored twice more for her hat-trick after the break, while Lucy Werrett (2) and Amy Hardy added to the scores before Westfield struck a consolation directly from a corner.

Bristol Ladies Union Under-14s came out on top of a competitive top-table clash with a 3-2 victory over Yate Town.

Both teams were previously undefeated and it was Blues who scored first, a neat move from the back enabling star player Esme Burrows to set up Leah Tutton on the run to slot the opener. Bailey Thompson restored parity for Yate with a good finish to make it 1-1 at half-time.

Clarissa Barnard and Madeline Mather rounded-off slick moves to put Union 3-1 up after the break before Thompson set up a tense conclusion by scoring Yate's second goal.

Hannah Orchard scored her first hat-trick as Keynsham Town Under-14s swept aside Mangotsfield 11-0.

Town attacked their opponents from the start and after being contained to 3-0 at the break, they pulled away in the second half to record a convincing win.

Bitton Under-15s' unbeaten start to the season came to an abrupt halt as they suffered a 5-0 drubbing at Brislington.

The visitors did create some good chances through Natalie Hulbert, Paige Brewer, Esther Hosznyak and Shannon Mapstone when trailing 3-0, but it was Brislington who added two more well-executed goals within a minute of each other to wrap-up an emphatic win.

Cadbury Heath Under-11s showed good character with only six players to hit back from a 4-1 half-time deficit and record a 4-4 draw against Brislington B.

Becky Storer celebrated another hat-trick for Heath, the third of her goals coming only a few minutes from the end of an exciting second half.

All the goals came in the first half as Warmley Rangers Under-11s emerged 3-2 victors over Stoke Lane in an even contest. They began the better and leading scorer Bethany Wilshire beat two defenders before rifling her shot into the bottom corner for the opener.

Shortly afterwards a through ball from player-of-the-match Elizah Shail sent Wilshire away to slot in her second and take her tally to ten for the term.

The hard-working Bella Flook put Rangers 3-0 up with a neat finish before Stoke Lane hit back with two goals within a minute to give themselves a lifeline.

Persistence finally paid off for Brislington Girls A Under-11s as they pipped Yate Town 1-0 with a Chloe Smith strike ten minutes from time following a powerful run by skipper Emma Sims to set her up.

It was no more than they deserved as the pair, together with Mia Williams, Sophie Allen and Chloe Osborne, caused their opponents lots of problems.

Portishead Juniors Under-10s embarked on a brave fightback after going 4-0 down to a very strong Longwell Green A team before eventually falling to a 7-4 defeat.

First-half keeper and player-of-the-match Aimee Morgan led the Portishead fightback with two fine goals before two further efforts from Chelsea Hill gave them real hope.

Portishead could not hold back a rampant Longwell Green who regained the initiative to complete the win.

Frampton Rangers A Under-10s A beat a determined Downend side 2-0 with Jess Jefferies scoring her 15th goal of the season and Connie Lanham adding the other.

The margin could have been greater with Jefferies and Lanham both hitting the woodwork and skipper Maddison Buss having a big influence in midfield.

Frampton Rangers B Under-10s continued the fantastic start to their first-ever season with a 1-0 win against Ashton.

The game was very evenly matched but Rangers edged it with a superb long-range effort from Molly Harris.
