Donovan and Rooney star in Blagdon win
SEAN Donovan and Pete Rooney starred with the ball as Blagdon edged to just their second win of the season in the only Bristol & District Second XI game to beat the weather.
Pucklechurch, who lost the toss, struggled to 65 as Donovan (5-25) and Rooney (4-19, both from 12) kept a tight hold on the scoring rate.
Haydon Lyons grabbed the final wicket for the home side, who found batting equally challenging. They slipped from 33-0 to 40-4, before Freddie Heath hit an unbeaten 18 to ensure maximum points.
The rain so effectively blanketed the Bristol area that no results were possible in the first XI programme.

Just two matches were completed in the A XI competition, including an eight-wicket win for United Banks at home to Chipping Sodbury.
Edwin Morris finished with 4-22 from 12 overs as Sodbury folded from 43-1 to 85 all out, John Mulvaney weighing in with 3-21.
David Morris then led the victory charge with a quickfire 41 as the heavens opened, helping keep his side in the promotion hunt.
For Sodbury, Brad Hughes, batting at 11, hit a career-best unbeaten 21.
Darren Hussey (5-34) and Andy Payne (4-7) skittled Bristol West Indians for just 73, putting Clevedon on track for a five-wicket win at Bristol West Indians in one of only a handful of WEPL second XI games to overcome the weather.
Clevedon host their popular sixes on Sunday. Ten teams are due to take part, with the action getting underway at 10am.
Weston-super-Mare Wizards moved into pole position in the Under-15 South division with a 19-run home win over Uphill Castle in the North Somerset Youth League. Matt Knight (22) and Scott Bradley (19) led Weston to 99-9. Georgia Tulip took 3-7 as Uphill Castle replied with 80.
