Donate blood and make a difference
Another Glastonbury. Another rainy day.
As well as going to see the Banksy exhibition, can I ask all your readers to consider spending an hour of their time donating blood as I did last week.
The National Blood Service has an excellent turn-up and donate facility at Southmead Hospital close to the Southmead Road entrance and has travelling donation facilities regularly in or near work places all over Bristol.
This is the beginning of the period when supplies of blood always dry up and donations now and in the next month or so are therefore particularly valuable.
So shelter from the rain for an hour and donate.
See www.blood.co.uk for more details.

“I've just been on the phone to Southmead hospital and the national blood service, and they both are certain that Southmead doesn't have a turn up and donate facility, but that you have to book a specific appointmnent at least a day in advance. I won't therefore be donating, which seems like a waste. Typical public sector beauracracy I suppose.”
