Don't rule us out yet, says Payne
Manager Dave Payne believes Brislington can still squeeze into a promotion position as they hit make-or-break time in Division I.
The former Bath City star has seen their hopes jolted by two straight defeats but insists three away points against close rivals Nailsea Town tomorrow can rejuvenate their chances.
"We have two big games coming up, against my old comrades at Nailsea and the league leaders (St George EIG) at home next Wednesday. We'll have a better idea of where we stand once they're out of the way.
"We've been playing well but dropping points, so now is the time to step it up."
Nailsea have Jake Turner, Dominic Sutherland and James Bellaera back and their assistant boss Rob Gregory said: "This is a huge game for us, too."
Centre-back Ryan Milton maintains his place at the heart of the defence for second-placed Fry Club, who face Churchill at home.
The squad also includes 18-year-old former Cadbury Heath forward Sean Eyles.
Keynsham Reserves are also in the promotion picture and go to St George tomorrow aiming to gain revenge for a 1-0 home defeat by the league leaders.
Manager Terry Saunders said: "The Saints defence has been excellent this year, but we're in good form, too, so it should be another tight game."
Jimmy Wring admits Stockwood Green Robinsons' away clash with fellow strugglers Street is a "must-win" fixture. But the upbeat boss insisted: "We performed really well against St George last weekend and were beaten by two late goals. If we play like that for the rest of the season we'll be fine."
In the Premier Division, improving Backwell United include new signing Brendan Abood, the versatile former Hengrove and Brislington player, in their squad as they look to stretch their unbeaten run to five with a win at Odd Down.
Nailsea United go toTimsbury desperate to atone for last weekend's 3-0 home drubbing by Bridgwater, while Cutters Friday visit Shirehampton hoping to extend a four-game unbeaten run.
