Devised and hosted by local stand-up and comic artist Kev F. Sutherland, pictured, the ingenious Sitcom Trials pit fledgling sitcom ideas against each other.
Each (performed) trial script ends on a cliff-hanger: the audience then votes for the comedy they want to hear more from. Kev's winning format has already enjoyed an eight-week ITV series and has played at the Edinburgh Fringe since 2001, as well as touring as far as Hollywood. Performers at previous Trials, meanwhile, have included Miranda Hart, Lucy Porter and Bristol's own Justin Lee Collins.
