Don't miss Mayfest
Bristol's inimitable annual festival of "adventurous theatre for playful people" winds up this Sunday, but there's still plenty to enjoy before the curtain comes down. Try, for example, Small Talk (Fri 25-Sat 26, 9pm, The Brewery), an imagined screen test for a B-movie actress by Mayfest favourites Probe Theatre. "So sexy it should have come with a health warning," said Ballet.co.uk on their last show. Elsewhere, The Guild of Cheesemakers (Fri 25, 7.30pm / Sat 26, 3pm and 7.30pm) by Bristol's Stand + Stare takes place in the atmospheric setting of St Thomas the Martyr church, off Victoria Street. Audiences are sat at tables laid with silver and starched white tablecloths and, yessir, fed a series of artisan wines and cheeses by the titular "Guild" while a strange mystery-cum-thriller unfurls around them.
To 27 May, various venues, Bristol. See listings for details.
