Don't Miss Bristol Concert Orchestra
Bristol Concert Orchestra's last concert of the season is promising "an evening of fantasy and adventure".
It'll certainly need an up-to-date passport what with a trip to the Middle Earth of Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings Suite. And border control will wave multi-prize-winning violinist Alexandra Wood speedily through for Max Bruch's most popular work after his Violin Concerto No. 1: the atmospheric Scottish Fantasy.

But under conductor Stefan Hofkes, the evening starts off in Finland with Sibelius' "expression of a state of mind" En Saga, and balancing it is a suite from Ravel's shimmering, voluptuous ballet score Daphnis and Chloe. Bristol Concert Orchestra travels hopefully and arrives in style.
