A MAN was robbed as he walked his dog in a park in Weston-super-Mare.

The incident happened at around 9pm on January 25 when a 43-year-old man was walking his dog along Milton Road.

He became aware of a man who was following him and, after becoming concerned, diverted his route along Ashcombe Park Road in order to avoid the suspect.

However, the man continued to follow the victim into the park.

When the man and his dog got three quarters of the way along Ashcombe Park Road, he was approached by a second man, who was on a mountain bike who had come from the direction of Upper Bristol Road.

He stopped in front of the victim and demanded money. The dog walker said he didn't have any but the man on the bike grabbed his arm.

The victim shook him off and then released his dog from the lead which started to growl at the suspect, who rode off along Ashcombe Park Road.

One of the suspects was white, about 5ft 6ins tall and of slim build and in his early 30s.

The other man was black, of stocky build and about 5ft 9ins tall and in his late 30s.

The first suspect had a slim face, with chin stubble and was wearing a light beige coloured Adidas branded jacket with a hooded top, dark coloured trousers, possibly track suit bottoms. The second suspect had a chubby face and was wearing a black zip-up jacket with a hood, black tracksuit bottoms and black training shoes and he was on a mountain bike.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the Ashcombe Park Road/Milton Road and Upper Bristol Road area on the day in question who may have information to help their enquiries.

Anyone with information should call Weston-super-Mare CID on 101.
