Dog rescued from Weston-super-Mare river
Firefighters were called to rescue a dog after it became stuck in a Weston-super-Mare river.
The shih tzu dog got into difficulty after jumping into the water near Bridgwater Road in Uphill yesterday.
It could not get out of the river due to brambles along the bank and fire crews were alerted by a concerned member of the public.
Rescuers from Weston-super-Mare and Bedminster fire stations attended the incident just after 7.30pm.

They used a thermal imaging camera to track down the dog before using a hook to reach its collar and pull it to safety.
The dog was then reunited with its owners - who had not been aware the animal had gone missing - using a contact number on its collar.
