Disruption warning to Bristol drivers
Drivers in Bristol are being warned that there is a 60 per cent chance of disruption to their journeys over the next few days because of the weather.
The city council said problems were expected particularly on higher ground in and around Bristol later today, tomorrow and Thursday.
Although it was snowing heavily at lunchtime, buses were stilll running normally.
Council spokeswoman Kate Hartas said: "We are actively monitoring traffic conditions in the city. All A roads, public transport routes and major residential roads are gritted and/or salted."
The council's budget for gritting is about £300,000 a year. For the current situation, 10 gritters have gritted 14 major routes from the outskirts to the centre with 50g per square metre.
