Disruption as accident closes section of southbound M5
MAJOR disruption was caused by an accident which closed the southbound carriageway of the M5.
Firefighters were called to a report of a car on its roof in the centre lane of the motorway, between junctions 20 and 21, on Saturday at around 1.15pm.
Crews from Clevedon, Weston-super- Mare and Avonmouth attended and used specialist cutting equipment to free a man and woman.
The two casualties were taken to hospital and though an air ambulance also attended it was not used. Firefighters left the scene at 3pm and diversions were put in place.
