The Bristol Post

ON the edge of Carer's Week, I write this letter with concern. I am a disabled travelcard holder with First buses in Bristol (and local buses in the UK). My concern is that I will not let my disability ground me at home but the travelcard does not become active until 9am!

I have written to the city council to enquire why disabled people are not assisted in getting to work (for instance) and they have not given a good reply.

Can you highlight this issue as there are many disabled and old people who carry the card but hate being restricted by the hours the cards allow.

I think your paper could make a good spokesperson for this valuable issue.
