Alan Martinovic is urging Dings Crusaders not to make a slow start when second-placed Rosslyn Park arrive in Lockleaze tomorrow in National Division Three South (3pm).

Dings became only the third team to win at Richmond this season when beating the Middlesex-outfit 16-13.

But Park, who have had former England international Austin Healey's assistance and were shown on the Big Tackle programme on ITV4, will be completely different prospect.

The former top-flight side are second, 28 points ahead of sixth-placed Dings, and beat the Bristol side 32-19 in December.

Director of rugby Martinovic said: "Rosslyn Park are a quality side. They have invested heavily in their team.

"If you look at the table they are up there with (leaders) London Scottish and Ealing as one of the three best teams in the league.

"Park won pretty easily against us earlier in the season. We started poorly in the first half.

"They come at you at a great rate of knots. We were 10-0 down after 10 minutes, and then 29-0 behind, in the game at Park earlier this season.

"We have to make sure we are competing right from the word go. The key for last weekend – and some of our other victories against the top-of-the-table sides – is that we have competed for the entire match."

Dings welcome back fly-half/full-back and top points scorer Adam Westall after he spent a month out with cracked ribs.

But he can only gain a place on the bench, with former Wasps Academy No 10 Tom Lukjaniec and ex-St Mary's No 15 Orlando Stott commanding the fly-half and full-back roles.

Westall, despite missing the last four matches, is 32 points behind the division's top points scorer, Ben Ward of Ealing, having amassed 178 points from 30 conversions, 30 penalties, a drop goal and five tries. Martinovic added: "The great thing about having Adam Westall in the team is that he keeps the scoreboard ticking over.

"I'm absolutely delighted with Tom Lukjaniec. He has been fantastic for us."

Meanwhile, former Dings fly-half Elliott Read has been released after less than a season at Leicester Tigers' Academy.

Martinovic added: "If Elliott wanted to come back I would be absolutely delighted. He is a very good player.

"I spoke to him this week, but I think he will want to remain in the top two divisions. He is still pretty ambitious."
