National League Three South side Dings fought back from a half-time deficit to claim a 13-13 draw for the second week running.

Richmond opened the scoring with a penalty from skipper Matthew Hart after a fine run from wing Neil Piggot saw him tackled on the line by Dings' Ed Haupt. The Dings full-back broke his arm in the tackle and was taken to hospital.

Dings should have levelled five minutes later when stand-off Adam Westall struck a post with a simple penalty. Hart added a second penalty on 19 minutes.

With scrum-half Kris Greene pulling the strings, Richmond took a stranglehold on the game and the Dings defence was severely tested, but centres Neil Dipple and Sam Caven tackled well and replacement full-back Orlando Stott was outstanding.

Dings reduced the deficit on 33 minutes with a Westall penalty.

On the stroke of half-time Richmond extended their lead with a try from flanker Iain Buzza after a dropped ball by Dings on half-way was hacked on and recycled for the try. Hart added the conversion.

Dings improved in the second half with wing Chris Wright-Hider a constant threat to Richmond, and Westall reduced the arrears with a penalty on 49 minutes.

Westall was the villain two minutes later as his pass was intercepted deep in the Richmond 22 when Dings had a two-man overlap for a score.

Dings levelled the scores on 56 minutes with a try from hooker Dave Wheeler after a penalty kick to the corner was won at the lineout by Dave Bufton and driven over for Wheeler to touch down, Westall added the conversion to level the scores at 13-13.

With just three minutes left on the clock, the visitors looked to have won it when they were awarded a penalty 30 metres out in front the posts but Hart struck the outside of the left upright.
