Demonstrators in Bristol join day of action across Europe
AROUND 40 people held a protest against austerity in the city centre to coincide with strikes across Europe.
Greek and Spanish nationals joined the event – organised by anti-cuts umbrella group Real Democracy – warning that the effects of the debt crises in the worst hit countries are spreading to the UK.
Protesters called for an end to EU-led government bank bailouts and austerity which has left millions unemployed.
