Democracy died in 1972
THE sun will rise tomorrow and the Queen will still be head of the British state. These are the facts and I am glad to see Mr Z Barker and his republicans accept them.
As for Mr Barker's political leanings, I have no interest. But as a disciple of Voltaire, I would defend etc.
The connection of women's rights and the monarchy? The word straws comes to mind. Citizens of a democratic country? Democracy died in our country in 1972, Mr Barker.
We the British people are now including the head of state citizens at the EU. We have a parliament elected by the people but our laws, human rights, the European Arrest warrant to name but two of the most odious in British are made in Brussels by un-elected, mostly republican strangers.

As a member of a movement lost or otherwise, might you not think at joining a worthwhile cause ie a democratic anti European organisation as you seem to be very pro democracy in your outlook Mr Barker?
As a parting thought, the British people tried republicanism once. They didn't like it!
