Man "lying in road" was hit by a car and killed
A PEDESTRIAN died after a reported collision with a car in Radstock.
The incident happened at about 4.20am yesterday on the A367, near to the Bath Road service station hand car wash.

It is believed the male pedestrian was lying in the road when they were hit by a vehicle travelling along the road.
The man was later confirmed dead at the scene.

Police said they are currently treating the death as unexplained.
They are asking anyone who may have been in the area or had travelled along the road shortly before the incident was reported to call them on the force's non-emergency number 101.

“My sincerest sympathy to those involved and their families. I truly realise what an effect that this can have on the driver, as well as all the families involved.
I think that the reporting of these "traffic incidents" has improved, in that they are generally no longer referred to as "accidents" (except by the BBC!) - there is usually a culpable person. However,you still make reference to vehicles hitting people rather than emphasising that it is the person at the wheel who has generally caused the vehicle to collide with the person/ other vehicle.”
