Death plunge Bristol dad back in Britain
John Hogan, the Bristol man who threw his six-year-old son to his death in Greece, has arrived back in the UK.
The former tiler, of Bradley Stoke, landed at London's Heathrow Airport at about 4pm yesterday - Monday - after flying back from Athens.

Hobbling on crutches and wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, Hogan kept his head down and made no comment as he came through arrivals, accompanied by police officers.
His whereabouts were unknown last night, although his solicitor said that he was to be immediately admitted to a psychiatric hospital to continue his care.
The 35-year-old killed his son, Liam, after a row with his then wife Natasha in August 2006 during a holiday aimed at shoring up their troubled relationship.
He also threw himself and his daughter Mia, then aged two, 50ft from the balcony of the Petra Mare Hotel at Ierapetra. Both he and Mia suffered broken limbs in the incident and Hogan was immediately arrested.
But after being cleared of murder by a Greek court in January last year he was transferred to a psychiatric hospital.
Trial judges had ruled that Hogan was not guilty of murdering Liam because he was suffering an "earthquake of psychosis" at the time and was therefore not responsible for his actions.
Two months later at an inquest in Flax Bourton, Avon Coroner Paul Forrest recorded a verdict of unlawful killing on Wheatfield Primary School pupil Liam, who died of head injuries. But this finding was overturned last month after two High Court judges found Mr Forrest's verdict to be flawed by a "really quite serious error of law".
A second inquest must now be held.
Hogan's mother Josephine, and sister Gabriele, who rented an apartment in Greece while Hogan was there, have campaigned for his return to the UK. But it is unknown whether Hogan will ever return to Bristol.
Mrs Hogan is believed to have sold her £165,000 terraced house in Bedminster when she moved out to Greece, and it also thought that the family home Hogan and Natasha shared in Dewfalls Drive, Bradley Stoke, has been sold.
Natasha, who has remarried, and Mia have since emigrated to Australia.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said support would be given to Hogan if he returned to Bristol. He said: "He's a free man returning to the UK. He has to make his own decision on what he wants to do. We, the police, and other appropriate agencies will provide support in light of the anticipated media interest."
His return comes two weeks after an Athens court decided he had made an adequate recovery and did not pose a risk to other passengers.
Natasha's family were unavailable for comment on Hogan's return to Britain last night.
But her stepfather Brian Chandler has previously told the Post: "The prospect of John Hogan returning after just 16 months of a recommended minimum three years' detention in a psychiatric unit is simply horrendous.
Her father Phil Steel told the Post he would "kill" Hogan if he tried to see little Mia again.
Yesterday, Hogan's solicitor, Kerstin Scheel, said Hogan would be admitted immediately to a psychiatric hospital for continued care.
She said: "There's been much said in the media to suggest that Mr Hogan intends to contact his daughter Mia. This is untrue; at Natasha Visser's request he's not made any contact with Mia since August 2006, either by telephone calls, letters, birthday or Christmas cards.
"Mr Hogan won't attempt either now or in the future to contact Mia, any decision to make contact must come from his daughter. Mr Hogan doesn't wish to cause any further unhappiness or distress for the family.
"After almost three years held first in prison and then in a psychiatric hospital, Mr Hogan struggles daily under the weight of the intense pain and loss of what his mental condition and actions have caused, and will continue to do so for the rest of his life. Mr Hogan only wants what is best for Mrs Visser and his daughter Mia, and in particular for her to have as normal a childhood as possible. He knows that Mia is with her mother, the best person to love and care for her.
"It's now asked that Mr Hogan be allowed privacy to continue his treatment in the UK."
It is unknown where he intends to receive psychiatric care.
