Days Out: Bristol Harbourside Sports Trail. Olympic silver medalist Nick Rose will launch the running track
Bristol is carving out its own small slice of sporting history by launching England's only free, city-based, measured sports trail on its picturesque Harbourside.
Designed in collaboration with Run Bristol and Run England, the track gives runners, joggers and walkers a choice of six, accurately-measured distances ranging from 100m to one mile.

The track follows a relatively flat and scenic waterside route around Harbourside, passing landmarks such as the Amphitheatre, Millennium Square and Cathedral Walk.
The aim of the sports trail is to provide a range of set routes that will suit everyone from beginners to experienced runners, who need to be able accurately measure times and distances as part of their training.

Bristol's very own Olympian, Nick Rose, has literally lent his fast feet to the Harbourside trail – the route is marked out with a series of colourful footprints which are based on Nick's own feet.
The twice 10k Olympic silver medalist will officially declare the track open at the Harbourside from 10.30am tomorrow.
The launch includes a day of running and fun run activities, all aimed at encouraging people to get active.
Bristol's historic Harbourside has always been alive with activity, so there is no better place to launch this groundbreaking sports trail.
It's the perfect place to enjoy a walk, jog or lunchtime work-out and to take in the beautiful sights and atmosphere of the vibrant Harbourside.
