Children will be skipping around the maypole in Iron Acton when the village hosts its traditional May Day celebrations.

Organisers of the event have introduced new attractions into their programme to add to the traditional highlights, which include a May Queen procession and a display of country dancing.

There will also be an art exhibition, children's games, a demonstration by the Hawk and Owl Trust and a fairground.

There is a farmers' market and shoppers can see how the honey they buy is made at a bee keepers' display.

It starts at 10.45am on Monday and this year more off-street parking has been provided along Iron Acton by-pass.
