“A speeding car smashed into me at a crossroads. The impact turned the car over and it slid 10 yards up the road,” recalled the 77-year-old, who also played Darth Vader in the original Star Wars films.
“I was trapped for 90 minutes before being released by the fire brigade, ably helped by the police and ambulance service.

“Although the car was a write off – £13,000 of damage – I am blamed for the accident even though I was only going five miles an hour through the crossing.”
The former dark lord Jedi survived the collision relatively unscathed.
“I knocked my right eye, and that now has a faulty tear duct and keeps wandering to the right, especially when I am having photos taken with fans and celebrities,” he said.
“I have been seen by the eye hospital and am going to have a corrective operation – soon I hope, as at the moment because of the squint I am not confident to drive.
“The medics are taking great interest in me,” he added. “I have even had a brain scan – in respect of a memory loss problem I am having.”
The actor went into remission from prostate cancer in 2010.

“"The former dark lord Jedi"
No, no, no. Darth Vader was a origanlly a Jedi Knight who was lured to the Dark Side. There is no such thing in the films as a "Dark Lord Jedi".”
