A medium-paced River Avon carrying a light tinge of colour came up with a decent set of weights for members of the Saints AC at St Anne's Park.

Top of the scoresheet was Bob Dark, who beat team-mate Pete Powe to the top honours by the weight of one small fish. Dark trotted red and white maggots down the inside of peg five for 10-9-0 of roach, while Powe used the same bait and a five-metre whip to tempt 10-4-0 of roach and dace from neighbouring peg four.

Andy Wilson came third with 9-10-0 of bream, roach and chub taken from peg 22 by alternating between a feeder and float fished maggot.
