A Knowle West dance group just missed out on retaining their world title in America – by 0.1 of a point.

The Dark Angels, who train at The Park centre, came second in the USASF Dance Worlds, an international hip-hop dance competition held at the Epcot theme park in Florida.

The 21-strong dance troupe qualified for the final in first place after a strong performance in the preliminary rounds on Saturday.

They were just pipped to the title by Texan group Alpha Cheer and Dance on Sunday. But the young dancers picked up first place in the Nation's Cup after getting the highest overall score over the weekend.

Dancer Natalie Tuck, 23, of Knowle, said: "We are all over the moon about it, and we did really well.

"We are second in the whole world, and getting the highest score means we are first in the world for dance."

Dark Angels choreographer Charlie Bedford, 22, of Stockwood, was also named international choreographer of the year at a ceremony on Friday.
