It will be the ninth year of the festival which, in January of this year, saw some 5,000 people gather for silent films presented by names such as Griff Rhys Jones, Ian Lavender and Bill Oddie.
In the summer a fundraiser, backed by Graeme Garden, Rory Bremner, Marcus Brigstocke and Lucy Porter, helped to raise funds to secure the festival's future, after it fell victim to council cuts.

Building on the success of the fundraiser, securing Mr O'Briain as host is something of a coup for festival organisers. The current host of Mock The Week, The Apprentice: You're Fired, and Stargazing Live, is currently in demand touring his stand-up show.
Other gala attractions confirmed for the festival include Paul McGann giving a live narration to the first UK screening of Georges Meliés film A Trip To The Moon.
Tickets for the festival gala on Friday, January 25, 2013, are on sale now. Prices are £20 or £8.50 for 12s and unders. Call 0117 922 3686.
