Dan the match-winner as Warmley Rangers squeeze through
AVON YOUTH LEAGUE UNDER-12 CUP: A goal either side of half-time was enough to see Warmley Rangers into the final of the Avon Youth League Under-12 Cup at the expense of a resolute Avon Athletic outfit.
The first half was a one-sided affair in which Warmley keeper Callum Hotine touched the ball just once as his team dominated, although they led only 1-0 at the break.
A super ball from Jay Vile found Harvey Boyce on the right, whose stinging shot was well saved by the Avon keeper.
But he was only able to parry the ball into the path of Dan Crouch, who was left with the simplest of tap-ins.
The second half was much more even, with chances at both ends, but again Warmley's quality shone through and a terrific free-kick from man-of-the-match Fraser Venables found Vile with room at the near post to score with a fine header.
Avon piled on the pressure after that and midway through the half they forced a fine save from Hotine, but they were unable to find the killer touch as Rangers held out.
