DRG Stapleton have made an audacious seven-day swoop for AXA's Pat Marsh in an attempt to kick-start their season.

Still without a victory heading into tomorrow's home match with B & W Avonside, Stapleton are striving to entice the services of the versatile Marsh, who has also had spells as manager at Totterdown and Henbury.

Co-boss Simon Bloodworth confirmed: "I've known Pat for a long time, we played together at Almondsbury Town and his experience and enthusiasm could do a lot for us."

Avonside are without luckless defender Nathan Broe who, having recently recovered from a lengthy knee-injury lay-off, is absent with a dislocated shoulder.

Striker Noel O'Sullivan is struggling too with ankle ligament damage.

Fourth-placed AXA, unbeaten in ten games since the start of the season, aim to close the current 11-point deficit between themselves and leaders King's Stanley with victory at home to Ellwood.

Paul Dempsey has applauded his Yate Reserves team, who go to Hanham Athletic with three clean sheets in three straight wins.

"We're more aggressive and disciplined and our strikers (George Brimson, Justin Cattle and Jack Smyth) are looking sharp," he enthused.

Reserve goalkeeper Lee Francis is poised to play his first game of the campaign for struggling Patchway Town as they entertain Chipping Sodbury.

Thornbury Town will hand a full debut to teenage striker Shane Walker, while centre- half Ashley Todd returns, as they look to capitalise on their encouraging 2-1 victory at Sodbury with victory at home to in-form Slimbridge.

Highridge United hope to have striker Adam Winstone back for the trip to face Tuffley Rovers, but Carey Morgan and Ray Johnston remain sidelined, while Henbury are targeting a new striker in time for their trip to play leaders King's Stanley.
