DRG Stapleton beat eight-man Henbury to go top
DRG Stapleton have gone back to the top of the Gloucestershire County League after a 1-0 win over a Henbury side who ended the match with eight men.
Henbury's Craig Hobbs Ross Johnson and Dominic Holver were all sent off. The only goal came in the 50th minute when Ricky Gingell netted from the penalty spot.
The win lifts DRG above Tuffley, who were beaten 4-0 at home by Highridge United and ended the match with 10 men.
The home side went behind to a Mitch Kavanagh goal in the 27th minute. Then two more in the 44th and 45th minute from Craig Liddell and Shane Hobbs gave the visitors a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break. Craig Liddell netted his second from the penalty spot late on to complete the scoring.
Rockleaze Avonside moved into second spot in the table after a convincing 4-0 victory at Kingswood. Troy Simpson (2), Robert Neill, and Barry Lumbard scored for Avonside.
An own goal in the 82nd minute secured a 2-1 win for Patchway Town at Chipping Sodbury Town.
James Stephens opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Bradley Harris was brought down in the 34th minute.
Patchway made it 2-0 on 82 minutes when Harris sent a cross into the six-yard box and the ball cannoned off Sodbury defender Darren Gould's leg and into the net.
Lloyd Harding pulled one back for Sodbury with a penalty after Harris handled in the box on 85 minutes
Hanham Athletic are creeping up the table after their 2-1 triumph over previously unbeaten Kings Stanley. Jay Owen and Nathan Evans gave the home side a 2-0 lead before Steve Walker pulled one back for Stanley.
Brimscombe & Thrupp ran out 2-0 winners at home to bottom club Taverners, thanks to goals from John Dalton and Jack Cannon.
There was a surprise result as Thornbury Town were 4-1 winners away to Axa. Steve Watts gave Axa the lead on 15 minutes, but a Chris Parry penalty and further goals from Steve Thompson, Pete Fowler and Steve Alexander won the game.
