D.b. side take on rapid viagra at the south centre
Tonight's GOTD came between the championship clash of D.B. vs rapid Viagra. This was the first time this season that the two teams had faced each other, seeing as they were both still relatively new to the centre. Rapid Viagra had only recently changed from playing in our Thursday night league, whereas the D.B. side had only been at the centre since mid January. Both teams were of similar age so the experience wasn't going to count for anything today.
The game started extremely bright with both teams of very similar quality. Both teams were evenly matched and both teams looked to play some decent football. They also were two very good battling teams, with both teams able to tackle and stick a boot in where it mattered. The D.B. side did take the lead, a close range strike just going underneath the keepers hand and beating him at his near post, however within 10 seconds of him conceding this goal, he would be conceding again, that was because straight from the Viagra teams centre they passed the ball back to the D.B. side who managed to go through everyone before tapping the ball in past the diving keeper. The team then found themselves three goals to the good, when a poor pass by the Viagra side went straight to a free D.B. man, who tapped the ball in from close range. Just before the stroke of half time the team had gone 4 goals clear, the team scoring a great goal from a long distance. 4-0 the score at Half time.
The second half started with the D.B. side scoring after smashing the ball down the other end of the field and scoring from a close range tap in. The team then went 6 goals up after the team scored from a fantastic save by the keeper, could only be parried to a free D.B. man who scored into an empty goal. There was some fight back by the Viagra side, whose long distance strike managed to go through the bored D.B. keeper. the team then managed to score again, this time a great strike across goal got the better of the keeper as the ball flew into the corner of the goal. However the D.B. side did have another goal in them, a great half volley going through a crowd of players and into the goal. The final goal of the game had to be the best though, this was when the Viagra play hit a venomous shot, in which flew into the top corner of the goal from well within his own half. However this wouldn't prove to be enough for their team as they ended up losing 7-3.
