Cyclist robbed of his bike in Totterdown

An investigation has been launched after a cyclist was robbed of his bike while cycling in Totterdown.

The robbery occurred at 12.35am on Friday, December 14.

The victim was cycling along Wells Road and near Tesco he was approached by three men.

He was assaulted by the men who hit him in the face with an unknown object and then took his bike. They were last seen going past the Oxford Pub.

The victim required five stitches on his face and has nerve damage which is likely to be permanent and prevents him from being able to smile.

The three men are described as:

- a white man in his late teens or early 20s, 5'9" – 5'10" tall with a medium build and short, shaved dark hair. He was clean shaven and wearing dark casual clothing.

- a white man in his late teens or early 20s, 5'8" – 5'9" and with an average build. He was wearing sandy trousers, a blue sleeveless body warmer and black gloves.

- a white man in his late teens or early 20s, 5'7" with an average build and dressed in dark clothing.

Police are taking this incident very seriously and a detailed investigation has begun to identify the people responsible.
