Ashton Boys won their top-of-the-table Division I clash with Bristol Rovers JSC 2-1.

Much of the game was scrappy, with neither side showing much flair, but hosts Ashton enjoyed plenty of possession in the first half and went into the break 1-0 up.

Rovers started the second half looking the brighter side and they were soon on level terms when Ben Cush's shot flew into the roof of the net.

Ashton, however, quickly regained their lead and, although Rovers spent long periods in their opponents' half, they were unable to force an equaliser, despite Cush seeing a late attempt cleared off the line when he thought he had scored.

A goal in each half handed Henbury Colts three valuable points against fellow Division I strugglers Warmley Rangers A.

In a scrappy first period, neither side was able to create a decent chance until a Luke Cox cross was poked in by Tom Palmer at the far post to give Henbury the lead.

The second half was a much better spectacle and Henbury struck the winner when Cox dribbled his way through the defence and smashed the ball past Warmley keeper Lewis George.

It was mostly one-way traffic after that as Henbury dominated, but wayward finishing and smart goalkeeping by George prevented them increasing their lead.

Warmley had a late chance but Zobzer Hemdyoun shot straight at stand-in keeper Jamie Turner to ensure that Henbury kept their first clean sheet of the season.

Daniel Coneybeer continued his magnificent scoring streak as Oldland Abbotonians B beat Yate Rangers 6-3 in Division IV.

Coneybeer took the plaudits once more by hitting yet another hat-trick, while Dan Thompson's double and a Charlie Harris strike ensured Oldland an emphatic win.

Yate had taken the lead with a well-worked goal before their opponents roared back to go 4-1 up.

Oldland had to survive some anxious moments, however, as Yate not only pegged the score back to 4-2 but went on to hit the crossbar before reducing the arrears to 6-3 late on. Yate's scorers were Scott Cook, Richard Macnamara and Harley Thorne.
