Curtain call for ballet dancers
TALENTED young dancers are being sought to take part in a production of the ballet Sleeping Beauty at Weston-super-Mare's Playhouse Theatre.
A hundred male and female dancers, aged eight to 18, are needed for roles in the production by the English Youth Ballet, due to take to the stage in March. The award-winning youth ballet is holding an audition to recruit dancers from 4.30pm on November 21 at The Playhouse.
Dancers are needed for the corps de ballet and for soloist roles.
Auditions for dancers aged eight to 11 run from 4.30pm and for performers aged 12 to 18 from 6.45pm.

Spokesman Ben Garner said: "The audition is an experience in itself as all the dancers will take part in a one and a half hour ballet class on the stage and their parents are invited to watch from the audience.
"The young dancers are coached by and then perform alongside international principal artists."
Those wanting to take part in the audition are being advised to pre-register to avoid queues, but it is also possible to register on the day.

“A "curtain call" happens at the end of a performance when the cast return to the stage. It is not an invite to auditions.”
