Fourteen-times Wessex Centre trials champion Colin Crease will spearhead their bid for glory in the National Inter Centre Team Trial at St Ives, in Cornwall, later this month.

The other members of the squad are Craig Talbot, Lee Hassall, Darren Butcher and Rob Scott.

The sidecar event takes place the same day, and with national champion Jon Tuck, Dave Tuck, Phil Sparks and Steve Radford, in their ranks, Wessex must have a very good chance of victory.

Enduro enthusiasts will be heading to the Kingswood Club's Wessex Championship tomorrow afternoon at Cromhall, in South Gloucestershire. The event runs for two-and-a-half hours and Keynsham's Matt Ridgeway and Bristol's Tom Smith are among a 120-strong line-up.

Many of Britain's quarter- mile sprint stars will be at Westonzoyland, near Bridgwater, tomorrow and Sunday for two National Championship meetings at which Simon Rees, Phil Russell, Chris Layzell, Andy Lodge, Barry Varndell and Keith Parnell will be hoping to achieve terminal speeds of around 150mph.

Following the cancellation of the Bridgwater Club's solo and sidecar meeting at Spaxton, it is a blank weekend for grass track racing fans. There are no local motocross meetings either, but there is a choice of three a couple of hours' drive from Bristol.

The 11th round of the Remedies Bar Series takes place at Brandis Corner, Garlands Moor, near Holsworthy, there is an ACU meeting at the Little Silver Moto-Park, near Exeter, while for classic bike enthusiasts the fifth round of the National Championships takes place at Berrynarbor, on the North Devon coast.
