Crease just pips Talbot at Draycott
Craig Talbot finished a close second to Colin Crease in the first round of the new Wessex Centre Trial Championship Series near Yate last weekend.
And the BVM Beta rider aims to turn the tables on the long reigning champion on home ground in the Wilts Border Club's Border Cup event in Draycott Woods, near Sutton Benger on Sunday.
Although the entry list remains open until half an hour before the 10.30am start, a number of experts have indicated that they will be contesting the four lap, ten section event.
They include Lee Hassall, Ian Fortune, Rob Scott and Jeremy Cross, plus Ben Bramwell, who is a contender in the South West Centre Championship after four rounds.
But Yeovil's Ricky Wiggins, who leads the latter, will be in action in the Yeo Vale Club's January Cup event in Keinton Mandeville Quarry at Charlton Adam, near Lydford-on-Fosse the same day with his father Lee, Craig Comer, Mike Hann, Jason Atwell and Hedley and Trevor Ashford.
There is timed trial action in Filers Woods at Backwell Hill, the same day, in which competitors can earn points in the annual Alan Brown Trophy Series.
Upwards of 50 are expected to contest the hour long battle against the clock, including Paul Manning.
