Weston's unbeaten Blue Square South run was halted by Newport's single score.

Neither goal was threatened in the first half, Weston's Manny Williams forced a save from keeper Glyn Thompson.

Just before the interval Weston's Ashan Holgate was stretchered off with a serious ankle injury and Newport's Scott Rogers was booked for the challenge.

The only goal came on 62 minutes when Aaron Cook headed against the bar from a corner and Paul Cochlin followed in and scored.
