Councillor should feel right at home in Westminster
Councillor Sam Townend standing for Parliament at the next general election has been blasted for claiming £10,212 in allowances despite turning up for only two meetings (Post, April 16).
In my opinion, he has certainly got the right qualifications for the House of Commons. He should feel quite at home in Westminster.
Mr B Silsbury, Kingswood, Bristol.

“Well, let's not vote for him, then! But hold on, isn't he a member of the Labour Party? This is Bristol, so he's bound to get in with a huge majority anyway.
Meanwhile, the Conservative candidate for the same constituency is a 29-year-old wannabe career politician who has never had a proper job.
I'm emigrating.”
