Council launch its new website
Filton Town council has launched a new website completely modernising the way it communicates its information.
The old website had been in place for many years and lacked the ability to capture information and carry out consultations.

The new website has been designed and built by Kieran Hyde, Conservative councillor for Charborough ward, who has spent months developing the site free of charge, to ensure it meets the needs of the council.
Early reaction from users of the site have already proved popular with feedback confirming the effort made to launch it.
This week's delicious £5 5 O'CLOCKTAIL is a refreshing Tequila Sunrise. Available everyday from our Bar for only £5 between 5pm & 7pm.
Terms: £5 cocktail applies to the cocktail of the week.
Contact: 0117 2448281
Valid until: Monday, May 27 2013
The launch was announced by Councillor Hyde, at a full council meeting on the 29th May and it was live a few days later.
One of the main criticisms of the council to date, has been a lack of consultation data to base its decisions on. This new site offers a channel for this to happen plus a channel to carry out Filton wide questionnaires.
One local resident commented "This is a sterling piece of work done by Conservative councillor Hyde. For years we have been in the dark on many council issues and this site will offer the tool for the council to be transparent on matters."
The new site can be seen by clicking the link below.

“I'm afraid its Filtoninsider who looks the child amongst adults here...look forward to you running as independent then insider? Making an effort?
Factual good comments from Conservative Cllr Teml, proving that not all councillors are in it for themselves and their little clique...
Did I mention he's Conservative insider? Oops have I upset you...”

“Very good, well done!
It may be worth giving the home frame a Head Title though for when people wish to Bookmark the page. At present it's just called Home. Should be called Welcome to Filton Council.
But excellent work.”

“Hi FiltonInsider,
This is not an attempt to score political points but an attempt to improve the Filton Town Council website, this has been an aim of all councillors. Cllr Kieran Hyde put a lot of time and effort into this site working in the evening during his spare time. The corespondent who wrote this article has stated that Cllr Hyde is a Conservative which is a fact.
From your posts I feel you are disillusioned with Filton Town Council and feel we are all just trying to score points, I can assure you that I am here to work for the community and represent the public who elected me.
I will not become engaged into a long discussion on this site but would be more than happy to meet with you face to face to discuss your concerns along with any issues you would like raised at the council, please email me your name, address and a phone number to rikki.teml@filtontowncouncil.gov.uk
Thanks
Cllr Rikki Teml”

“"Council launch its new website"
Memo to trainee journo in Plymouth - collective noun "Council" takes SINGULAR verb "launches"...”

“I rest my case.
Do you people realise just how childish you ALL look?
Labour, Tories the bloody lot of you. Every sentence has to include "Labour" or "Conservative" just to try to score points.
Lets give credit where it's due. The whole lot of you are so busy bickering you've completely forgotten about Filton. So well done clowns.
You claim the new website will help Consultation? Since when have you lot EVER listended to a consultation?
You are so desperate you all have to click the rating button. Oooooooooo. What fun!”

“Insider, get over yourself.
Credit where credit is due, site looks excellent and all credit to the effort made.
Unfortunately this council is extremely political due to labour cronies, therefore its only right people know who are making effort and who are on labour branch pub crawls!!”

“Oh look. Another attempt to score political points.
Pathetic.
Even a website has to be turned into a political points scoring opportunity by these pointless people. (Like the pun?)
In my opinion we don't need politics in local government, because this is the level it always sinks too.
Lets get more independents in, people who crack on with the real issues rather than bickering like a bunch of football hooligans.”

“Excellent effort and piece of work by Conservative councillor Hyde, for Charborough ward. After years of suffering poor communication there are no more excuses no to engage with residents. Labour councillors take note!”
