Cornwall thrash Gloucestershire
Gloucestershire's chances of winning the Channel League evaporated in the heat on the dunes overlooking Perranporth Bay when Cornwall recorded a humiliating 12-3 victory.
This handed the title to Glamorgan, surprise one-point winners over Gloucestershire a week earlier.
The tough links course proved too much and the only successful foursome's pair was Andy Hale (Chipping Sodbury) and Shane Winstone (Knowle), who was making his comeback as a reinstated amateur.
Turning a 4-1 lunchtime deficit into a win was never likely to happen.
Ross Langdon (Minchinhampton) beat Rob MacGregor 3 and 2 and anchor man Hale completed a 100 per cent day with a two-hole win over Aaron Stephens, while Winstone lost by just one hole.
Captain Nigel Thompson said: "This result is hugely disappointing but we cannot fault our players' efforts on a brutal golf course in excessive heat."
After two successive defeats Gloucestershire finish the season against Gwent at Chipping Sodbury on October 11.
